TRINITY TIDBITS TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH: Services at Trinity Lutheran Church are held each Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday School and Bible class are held from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. Please join us for worship. THE LORD’S PRAYER - THE THIRD PETITION Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. What does this mean? The good and gracious will of God is done even without our prayer, but we pray in this petition that it may be done among us also. How is God’s will done? God’s will is done when He breaks and hinders every evil plan and purpose of the devil, the world, and our sinful nature, which do not want us to hallow God’s name or let His kingdom come; and when He strengthens and keeps us firm in His Word and faith until we die. This is His good and gracious will. THE LORD’S PRAYER - THE THIRD PETITION Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. What does this mean? The good and gracious will of God is done indeed without our prayer; but we pray in this petition that it may be done among us also. How is this done? When God breaks and hinders every evil counsel and will which would not let us hallow God’s name nor let His kingdom come, such as the will of the devil, the world, and our flesh; but strengthens and preserves us steadfast in His Word and faith unto our end. This is His gracious and good will. USED INKJET CARTRIDGES: We are recycling used inkjet cartridges. The company pays $2.00 for each empty inkjet with printhead, regardless of brand and model. Remember to bring in your cartridges. NO SCHOOL: Please remember that there is no school this Friday, January 16, for a teacher work day. “LUTHER” THE MOVIE: “Luther” the movie will be shown at the Cover Theatres from January 30 - February 5. CHAPEL: Our total chapel offering collected to date is $606.85. The chapel is being designated to T.I.M., Trinity in Mission. EXTRA PIE: We have an extra pecan pie $10. TUITION: Please remember that tuition is due the first of the month. Thank you. BASKETBALL: The boys team will be playing Bethlehem this Friday, January 16, at 4:00 at the Nazarene Church. Come cheer the boys on! Both teams will play at home next Tuesday, January 20, against St. John’s. The boys will start at 4:00 and the girls at 5:00; games will be at the Nazarene Church. Come cheer the teams on! TONE CHIMES: The tone chimes will be playing in the 8:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday, January 25. Students should meet in the sanctuary at 7:30 a.m. to help set up and practice. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE. KINDERGARTEN: Please remember to return your report cards. GEOGRAPHY BEE: The students in 5 - 8 will be having a geography bee tomorrow at 2:15. Parents are welcome to come and watch. The students that will be participating are: Yana Mitskevych, Joel Gronewold, Jal Thareek, Buddy Watson, Melissa Beltran, Jessica Linker, Katelyn Terry, Thomas Trim, Sam Schantz, and Alan Lanz. |
